Link REIT appoints former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head John Saunders group CIO

Hong-Kong noted Link REIT has already revealed the appointment of BlackRock’s previous Asia Pacific property executive John Saunders as team chief investment officer (CIO) in the recently created function.

Units in Link REIT finalized unchanged at HK$ 42.55 ($7.25) on the HKEX on Dec 20.

“We are happy to welcome John, who carries with him a wealth of expertise and sector know-how, to the Link family. The appointment is going to boost the range and capability of our managing team and will reinforce our capacity as we search for brand-new growth opportunities and sustainable returns for unitholders following the Link 3.0 method,” says Hongchoy.

Before that, he worked from Hongkong Land from 1994 to 1998 where he was involved with the property and leasing of numerous site ventures in Singapore and some other Asian states.

He has over three decades of expertise in the property sector with a solid financial investment track record, most recently at BlackRock where he also served as worldwide head of the real estate consumer organization.

Saunders, who will assume the place from March 4 following year, is going to be responsible for Link’s general financial investment techniques, profile administration and the critical growth of Link’s investment organization. He will inform to George Hongchoy, Link’s president.

He joined BlackRock with its merging with MGPA in 2013 the minute he was the company’s CEO of Asia and the account manager of their Asian Property Funds set. Before taking part in MGPA, he worked with CLSA in between 1999 and 2007, operating their regional estate research study attempt and was instrumental in commencing their Asian Real property Fund wherein he functioned as an investment committee associate.
